• First finance program to focus on developing industry relevant skills through authentic experiences

• ​Significant collaboration with industry to design courses that develop skills required by the finance industry

• Coding, financial modelling, report and presentation writing, as well as verbal presentation skills

• These skills are developed in the context of completing assessment that mimic the work of graduate analysts

• This approach has been recognised with Mark Tanner receiving a National Award for Outstanding Instruction

• The collaboration with industry goes beyond a guest lecture here or there 

• Industry leaders such as Richard Howes and Michel Mamet have been instrumental in redesigning a number of courses in the program and have subsequently taught these courses, ensuring content and skills are highly relevant for industry

• Numerous courses require students to present investment reports or merger pitches to professionals in their offices

• Every year dozens of industry partners have student teams work on real projects that the firms are interested in. Indeed, some of these projects have resulted in completed transactions.

A strong culture of passing it forward has been developed within the cohort and the Alumni community to mentor and coach younger students in the program so they can succeed in the program as well as excel in national student competitions and preparation for the job market

• This program was first introduced in 2017 with 30 students and an ATAR 99 entry requirement (inc. bonus points)

• Success has motivated the university to grow the yearly cohort to over 200 students
